Reading
I have taken this opportunity to create a student document to help students review grammar skills and to introduce them to skills they will use to analyze a variety of literature. They will use the poem "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll for this lesson.
Students will use the "Stop! and say..." reading strategy to help improve their reading fluency.
Students will use the "Words That Add Specifics" lists to broaden their use of larger vocabulary words when they write.
Writing August 2011
Students will write an essay. Teacher will provide the students with mini lessons that are active/passive voice specific.
Students will practice some exercises. Students will edit their writing for passive voice writing and change to active voice.
Students will rewrite their essays.
